Sunday

Thank you, thank you very much

A drive into Nashville was enough. On to Memphis. We found an RV park next to Graceland, set up and went on over. The tour was better than expected. Elvis was more than we knew and his home less oppulent than expected. Dinner was some local BBQ- yummy. Our first night camping and we were a bit apprehensive. A kiss g'nite and we woke 10 hours later to the sounds of gentle rain and song birds!! We could't hope for more. A drive to downtown Memphis was more than enough --on to Little Rock.
Little Rock was another Southern Town like so many others. But - it does have the Clinton Presidential Library which we toured. Quite an interesting place with lots of exhibits worth seeing including an exact replica of the Oval Office. After that a short walking tour of the city and we were on the road again. We hoped to spend the night in the Ozarks but Arkansas and surrounding states has been hit hard by rains and the area was flooded. Further flash floods were predicted so we decided a Sleep Inn was the better choice. If the weather breaks overnight then a hike tomorrow. If not, on to Oklahoma City.

  1. You awoke 10 hours later???!! Geez, can I rent that thing when you get back? I haven't slept 10 hours in more years than I care to say. ;-)
